Within my time being here, I found the COMMUNITY, as a whole, to be too good. I personally liked it. c:
Then when I see people individually, it's just complete CRAP; depending on the people who I saw posting. Earlier, I was viewing a thread, on a minor question that could have been easily found, the posters all basically posted the same answer, it was just a race on who could post the solution faster. As I view the thread being populated by the same answer, I notice that the first answerer got irritated because he posted the answer first; about two others did the same, just a little bit different. I noticed that reputation points are very needed by the people, it confuses me. There's no use for that. What does it show? That you're popular? Probably. Also this point system, I like. 'nuff said.
Also, this "hide" system isn't very effective. Majority of the threads are 49% spam, 49% off-topic and 2% OP. My suggestion would be to make a hide system that goes by amount of posts you have, but then the outcome could be the same as the normal hide system. Another "issue" would be the chat-box. The chat-box is, the most, distracting object on this site. With a chat-box, people can advertise, talk about some things currently happening, then you can notice some things not so allowed on the site, or just regular spamming. It keeps people from posting in the forums, which is THE main priority.
NOTE: I'm not hating, I'm just stating an opinion that I believe dearly.

i agree, basically nobody knows those new members with high rep
the hide system just creates spam
and the chatbox is the best thing ever, in my opion

I'm a fan of the chat-box.
Its basically why my post count is around 40+.
Which then proves my point.
